This event is open to teachers, administrators, governing board members. parents, grandparents, city officials, and all community members.
Continental breakfast will be provided and lunch will be offered for purchase at the close of the event.
Additionally, kids in grades 4-8 will rotate in separate grade level groups through each of these topics in a separate space in the building with the hope that families go home with some awesome knowledge to share with each other.
**Families with 4th/8th grade students may come together, parents may come alone, kids may come alone.**
Schedule:
8:00 a.m. Check in/breakfast
9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Keynote sessions with breaks
12 p.m. Food truck lunch for purchase
We are bringing together 3 emerging topics for youth and parents to engage in together.
We will cover in 45 min Ted Talk express format: Social media impact and internet safety, current trends in substances and what we all need to know, and how to create a home where kids learn how to cope and develop resiliency over time.
I will be joined by my esteemed colleagues from notMYkid, Inc., NYT best selling author Ned Johnson, and recovery consultant and mental health specialist, Shane Watson.
Ned's advice and books, "THE SELF-DRIVEN CHILD", and sequential book, "WHAT DO YOU SAY?" will change your life!
We are grateful to Gilbert Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Shane McCord for hosting this awesome event in kind in partnership with notMYkid, Inc., Project Lily, Bark Technologies, Inc., and The Town Of Gilbert.
The times have called us to not stand by, we are all capable of being true UPstanders
(A high school student version is coming soon promise!)
